Plantar fasciosis

What is plantar fasciosos/Fasciitis?

Plantar Fasciitis is the most common form of pain in the foot. It occurs when the thin membrane that runs along the bottom of the foot, also known as the plantar fascia becomes in inflamed and irritated.

Sometimes calcium deposits from the in the ligament, more commonly called bone spurs!

The pain is usually worse in the morning because while you’re asleep the plantar fascia shrinks. When you begin walking, it stretches out again and causes irritation. As the fascia stretches out, the pain lessens.

Plantar fasciosos causes:

  • Sedentary lifestyle
  • Wear high-heeled shoes
  • Have unusually high or low arches in the feet
  • Have tight calf muscles
  • Have a tight Achilles tendon
  • Sedentary people are usually affected when they suddenly increase their level of activity or wear less supportive shoes such as sandals or flip-flops.
  • Plantar Fasciosis is also common among runners and dancers because of increased stress on the fascia, especially if the person also has poor foot posture.
  • The development of this painful disorder occurs more often in people whose occupations involve standing or walking on hard surfaces for prolonged periods.

Symptoms of plantar fasciosis:

  • Pain and stiffness in bottom of heel
  • Burning or achy feeling on bottom of foot
  • Trouble standing for long period of time
