Migraines/headaches

Headaches/Migraines are one of the most common complaints treated by chiropractors!!

•Over a three month period, people with chronic migraines missed an average of 63 days of work, school, and time with family. Including time that was less productive at home and the office.

•Only 36% of people with chronic migraines are properly diagnosed.

•It is estimated that between 50 and 100 million Americans suffer from chronic headaches and 3.2 million with chronic migraines each year, costing businesses more than 50 billion dollars annually in lost labor, or a collective loss of 155 million workdays.

Symptoms of migraines include

  • Nausea/vomiting
  • Pain behind one eye or ear
  • Pain in the temples
  • Seeing spots or flashing lights
  • Sensitivity to light and/or sound
  • Temporary vision loss

Migraine Triggers

Migraine/headache triggers include foods, environmental stimuli (noises, lights, stress, etc.) and/or changes in behaviors such as (insomnia, excessive exercise, blood sugar changes, etc.)

There are many different common headaches that chiropractors treat, including:

•Tension/Stress headaches

•Migraines

•Cluster headaches

•Sinus headaches

•Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) headaches

Doctors of chiropractic undergo extensive training to help their patients in many ways beyond just treatment for low-back pain. They know how tension in the spine relates to problems in other parts of the body, and they can take steps to relieve those problems.
